Introduction

 
       Universiti Putra Malaysia was established to carry out three (3) primary roles, which are Teaching, Research and Professional Services. Consultancy services is an important type of Professional Services that utilizes the expertise and research findings by UPM academicians. Through consultancy, we would enhance professionalism, contribute to nation development and provide financial returns to UPM.  
  Consultancy unit functions as main body to supervise and manage consultancy project at UPM. UBC represent UPM as a consultant entity by registered with Ministry of Finance.

Consultancy Unit Objective and role are :

 
 
 
  1. Give consultancy services platform to academician/expert in UPM to build relation with industrial company and Government Sector.
  2. Registered as consultant Company with Ministry of Finance in order to get prior permission to handle consultancy services.
  3. Involved in marketing, consultancy services and deal with client on the early stage of consultancy work and find the suitable expert from UPM to handle the consultancy project as project leader.
  4. Working together with the academician to come out with a proposal and budgeting in getting the tender/ project.
  5. Provide law services to the consultant from UPM in dealing with problem arise with the client.
  6. Manage the preparation of MoU and MoA between UPM (consultant) and client through Legal Office at UPM.
  7. Provide credit to the consultant as capital to start the project before received first payment from the client.
  8. Monitor each consultancy projects and ensure that the project is going smoothly according to the terms and condition in the contact signed.
  9. Managed the consultancy account with Treasury UPM and managed claims, honorarium and all expenses of each project with Treasury.
  10. Allocate overhead payment to the trust fund account at UBC, PTJs and UPM.
